Operation Shoebox Military - What a journey it's been - 185,000 care packages have been sent to US military personnel around the world and across the country by more than 100,000 volunteers, including many of you who have given hundreds of hours of your time and the success of many others Ensuring fundraising events, weekend shopping trips, packing, loading and unloading trucks, candy bags, gluing boxes, managing OPSHBX NJ desk at ballparks, fairs and other locations.
The past few years have been tough for an organization whose business model relies on voluntary, hands-on participation, but we have survived, planning to adapt even more in 2023.

Attached to this email is a photo taken aboard the USS Nimitz, which is on station in the South Pacific. Jared Burchett, a Hillsborough HS graduate and son of Greg Burchett, a former Hillsborough Rotary member, received 100 car packages last month to share with his teammates. Jared is an air traffic controller who works exclusively with the F-35. At a young age, Jared helped his father with the annual packing events for the Hillsborough Rotary.

Four Marines on base in Afghanistan excited to receive personal care package from Operation Shoebox New Jersey
Along with the rest of the crew at USCGC MAUI, we want to thank you on behalf of everyone involved in sending so many care packages! Your packages, ideas and support are most welcome, spanning an entire year. Candy and cookies always lift morale, and in an area with strong winds, sand, and of course, the salty sea, body wash and moisturizer all go away very quickly.

We hope everyone is safe and sound at home, getting ready for Halloween! It is an honor and a privilege to serve.
I want to thank Troop 489 - brothers Ben and Sam Elliott, as well as their parents Rob and Shelly Elliott, fellow Boy Scouts in Troop 72, Fire Company #2 in Hillsboro NJ, and your community who donated the items. I had to kiss the sisters and brothers about the treatment package!! We are very grateful; You put a smile on all our faces as we enter these holidays abroad.

Raritan Operation Shoebox Held For Military By Raritan Social Club At Michael's Inn
The donation will serve the needs of the tenant units at Half and their families. Operation Shoebox was at HAAF before distributing more than 33,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies and other food items to families at Fort Stewart and Hunter Airfields on August 27, 2012.
Ron and Mary Harper founded Operation Shoe to send care packages while their five children and two sons-in-law were deployed around the world. The Harpers have a special relationship with the Army and the Marne Division.
Mary Harper said during her visit to the HAAF in 2012, "The 3rd Infantry Division is very special to me because my children were stationed there."
Sergeant First Class Shawanda Byers, 1st Battalion, 3rd Aviation Battalion, CAB 3, was the noncommissioned officer in charge of coordinating units to collect donations. According to him, the event would benefit the soldiers and families of the unit.

"It is polite to say to someone that you appreciate what they are doing for their families and country. It is one of the best things that anyone can do, let a soldier know that they are appreciated."
